Developing Resiliency During Turbulent Times
I am very grateful and blessed to have delivered my 1 hour keynote "Developing Resiliency During Turbulent Times" on December 10, 2019 for the Region of Peel Staff Day.
Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. Developing resilience is not something that can be facilitated for you – it is a personal journey and a journey you can share with others while recognizing that their journey may be different from yours.
When building resilience it is important to recognize that it is not the events in our lives that do us in – it is how we perceive them and react to them that does us in. For example, many people believe that "change shouldn’t be happening" and this belief then leads to even more resistance to the change as opposed to accepting that “it is” and therefore what are the next best steps.
And why is this so important? Because if you meet life with resistance it now becomes 10 times if not a 100,000 times harder to manage and navigate "what is"!
And the process of building resilience is not just an intellectual one – it is a physical, mental and emotional one - which is supported by the 4 keys to building resilience: Desire, Intention, Allowance and Surrender.
